Second Chance Saloon

OOC: Soooo, in short, no. This is still casual out of mainstream RP stuff.

IC: Garfunkel enters now with a datapad in hand, signing the last of the Terminator's papers. He looks up to find a seat and finds Guile materializing in front of a table that was empty. He moves over to the table and plops down, throwing his pad on the table. "Guile! What's happening? Que Pasa, and all that? Have a seat homes." Garfunkel says, gesturing to the seat opposite himself.

"EHY HEYYYYY VAYA CON DIOS VATO LOCO!!!!!!!!!" Guile searches for massive amounts of booze.

Garfunkel would ordinarily follow Guile's lead and drown himself in alcohol on his off-shift, but being an admiral brought some.... Qualities that he must now aspire to uphold and present.... "Garfunkel waves at the attending waitress and asks for a Synthehol Pina Colada. Garfunkel could already hear the verbal beating Guile was going to give to him for ordering synthehol, not to mention a pina colada....

A strage looking space born alein pass in front of the windows look out in to space as it circles the station. almost like a large manta ray.

a few patrens get up and point at the strange alien before i passes from view.

Comader on duty in ops: sir sorry to bother you sir but we have a
space unidentified alien that say you book is safe what are your order? it says its name is Kanoa Zita that mean any thing to you?

Garfunkel (assuming it came in on the commbadge) taps his commbadge to respond,"No, the name doesn't sound familiar off the top of my head, is there any reason he should be suspected of being dangerous to station and crew?" he says, totally missing the strange looking alien that passed by the windows of the Saloon. He thinks for a moment, recalling the information given to him by the Ops officer,"....Wait, my book? Did I hear that right?"

It was at this time Garfunkel's gaze drifted from the table in front of him to the windows holding back the vacuum of space, where he saw the alien ship for the first time. "Huh..." Garfunkel says speaking out loud to the computer now,"Computer, beam me directly to Serenity Operations. Now."

Guile facepalms at it all. "Things have changed." He begins drinking.

Hardtack walks into the Saloon, taking a comfortable seat at the bar. It had been some time since she'd been on station and it was sure good to be home.

Jace waved at Hardtack from a few seats down at the bar, sipping on a rather awesome caramel shake. "Hey, flight lead! What bring you here? ...to the only good place to eat on the station...?"

He smiled nervously, but laughed anyway.

Hardtack snapped awake, only half aware of her surroundings, and looked around to find the source of the interruption of her chain of thought. Then she saw him, the new guy! She couldn't remember his name for the life of her, but he was friendly enough and so she took it upon herself to sit next to him, grabbing a cup of hot cider as she did so.

"You...you're that newbie I was messaging back on the Serenity, right?"

Jace smiled, "yes.. Iwas hoping that was you, and not a hullicanated approximation of you in my brain. Honestly, telepathic messaging is a new thing for me."

He pulled out the chair for her.

"So yeah, still pretty new to serenity station. Do you guys see a lot of trouble here, being posted on the outskirts of the badlands, I mean?"

Hardtack shook her head, "Not really. That last encounter was the last big thing I knew about...though apparently the majority of my crew is missing on some top secret...thing, and they somehow got my brother in on it. Dunno how that happened, but it did."

She resisted the urge to probe Jace's mind, restraining herself as Haymed had taught her...but it was just so tempting! She hadn't had a real conversation in someone for so long.

"A brother, eh?" he smiled, "do you have much family here on the station? Or how did it come to be that your own brother should be stationed with you here?"

Hardtack shook her head. "I have four brothers total. He's my twin. No, he's not on the station. He was with a flight crew somewhere on the boarder. Got caught up in all the nonsense somehow. No idea how, he just did." She smiled at Jace, sipping her cider. "Both my parents were military. Dad disappeared a while back with some ship that went missing. Haven't heard from my mom in a while. She's on a medical vessel called the Fervent Prayer. What about you? How'd you wind up here? And do you have any family nearby?"

Garfunkel walks in, tired as hell, looking as if a he had gotten towed behind a fast moving shuttlecraft. He slowly walks up to the bar and orders the strongest drink he could think of.... 'It's green.' He thinks half heartedly to himself as he throws it back. "Another please." He says,"Dont worry, I'm off duty." He adds when he notices the unbelieving look on the bartender's face. She refills it and he pounds it back like the last,'Nothing like admiralty to make you appreciate something a little strong...' he thinks as the potent substance begins to tickle at the back of his mind...

A man enters the second chance he wears a black uniform, his dark skin a contrast to his graying close cut hair and beard. As he heads for the back he looks longingly at the stairs that lead up to the now abandoned home. Quietly he sits down and removes a padd from his pocket and starts to read.

Guile falls over, "HEY OLD MAN! I GOT MORE OF THIS!" he holds the bottle up

Pyriel turns to see Guile waveing a bottle of some sort. Thanks but nothanks buddy he says with a sad smile, and goes back to reading.

Guile not knowing any better, suddenly straightened up and leaned on a support nearby. "Sir, really though. It's gotten kinda quiet around here lately..." He finished the sentence with another drink.

Pretty much is one of the reasons i had to leave and if you notice (pointing to his collor and the lack of pips) you don't have to call me sir any more. Seeing he was not going to get anymore reading done Pyriel heads into the kitchen.

Garfunkel enters the Second Chance to find it eerily quiet and vacated for the most part. He walks up to the bar and asks,"Where is everyone? This place has been awfully quiet lately." Saying this, he takes a seat and asks for a Long Island to sip on while reads over his iPad78. "Well, what with the recent happenings within Starfleet, everyone's time has been eaten up by work and re-classing. Not to mention the economy's been in the low for a while." The Bartender says, sliding the Island over to Funkel and continuing to wipe down glasses with a white rag. "Well, it's a damn shame. Believe it or not I miss the community around here. Now with Cannons gone, and Baumer in a Cryogenic Coma, things have been damn quiet. No one has the time they used to." Funkel says as he suddenly chugs the strong blend of alcohols. Not overly surprised, the Tender starts up another Island,"Yeah, well it's not really my place to say, but maybe it's time for some change. Ya know, uhh like a different focus for the station, or at least maybe Uhhh open a panel for future talks and such." he says, dropping the Coke onto the top of the beverage. "Well, we definitely need to do something. moral's at an all-time low, and I think this crew is drifting apart." "Yeah, the only frequenter I've had in here lately is that Guile character. Damn drunkard. Comes in yelling about his latest escapade into what he refers to as "The lower regions of the lady Quadrant." and usually sings a happy birthday to the patrons, yelling The Cake is a Lie before passing out on that stool there." The bartender retorts motioning to the bar-stool. Garfunkel stares blankly at the Barkeep and then cracks a smile. "Wouldn't expect anything less." he says sipping the first sixth of his next LI, secretly hoping for some form of social interaction besides an irritated barman....

Soon after his fifth Beverage, Funkel finds himself in a lonely stupor, finding the Barkeep to be more entertaining than he had only a few minutes before....

"Hey man. Good to see ya."

Captain Guile, looking older than he should, stands at the end of the bar as if he had never left.

Dazed and confused, but sobering Garfunkel peers down the bar at Guile,"Hello Captain! How have you been?!" Having been constantly berated with nothing but sentimental thoughts from a drunken Admiral for the last hour and a half, the Bartender uses the opportunity to sneak away to another patron, mostly because saying "Yeah" and "Uh Huh" to every question wears on you after a while...
