History
John was born in The southeast part of the North American continent in a little town called Mansfield.
From a young age John and his father worked on junk hover cars for fun. It was here that his love of all things mechanical started.
He also however loved to draw, and soon found interesting ways of combining his two talents.
He was almost killed however at age 15, after sneaking into his fathers shop and trying out his own modifications to a damaged power cell. It exploded, and a large chunk of the skin on his hand was burned badly. His left hand never fully healed and a scar is visible to this day.
Despite this somewhat destructive event he continued to help his father, under close supervision until 19.
He then, after hearing from friends, decided to apply to Starfleet Academy to try his luck at bigger things.
He was accepted, but had to work hard to keep up due to a less than stellar education in his small home town.
Service Record
Graduated the Academy, specializing in the Engineering track.
Served aboard the U.S.S. Yeager as a Damage Control Specialist for 2 years, and was promoted to Ensign, but later asked for a transfer to the U.S.S. Sutherland.
There he served as Assistant Chief Engineering Officer, and enjoyed the larger team. He was part of the engineering staff on board, when the Sutherland was asked to assist in creating a blockade against Romulan supply vessels during the Klingon civil war. He decided to stay on board, liking his commanding officers, through most of the Dominion War, and was offered a promotion, after the chief engineer was killed in a freak power overload, after the vessel sustained minor damage from enemy fire.
Due to his own, constant pleas to Starfleet Command, John was later able to lead a team constructing the U.S.S. Voyager, a newly commissioned Intrepid class vessel.
To some this might have seemed like a step down, but to him, it was pure gold, being a designer at heart. However, he was pulled off the project within days of it's completion, along with most of the engineers at space dock, when Voyager was asked to track down a Maquis vessel, and was required to rendezvous with Deep Space 9.
After a short vacation, and a few talks with Captain Richard Hillings, John McIntyre was brought on board the U.S.S. Sabre. When the opportunity came to take command of his own ship, the Akira class U.S.S. Andromeda, he accepted the post, and is currently docked at Serenity Station.
