I was out doing some missions today and discovered a place you can acquire a extra ship slot. Hear is how you acquire the new slot step by step. The mission Involved is called the vault.
1. Go to star base 39
2. go to the admirals office
3. speak with the lt. cmdr. Kyle DeSoto
4. after speaking with him he grants you a extra ship slot onto your character.
After you have done so you will beable to go down to the ship yard part of the station and use a shuttle purchase token to buy 1 of 4 different shuttle crafts. *note* you can also purchase a shuttle for the cost of no token.
