    pretty sure they HAD to be PC's. lead was in a fleet. The rest of his "crew" (family/pod/clone batch?) had one-letter vowel changes to his name. I'm pretty sure this was the payoff... he just created them, parked them there right where you spawn on the planet, then watched. Epic.
