Biography
Last Name: Rhona
First Name: Caitir
Middle Initial: L
Species: Human/Bajoran
Age: 45
Gender: Female
I was born on Salva II. My mother was an exo-botanist, and my father was a Starfleet officer. We were forced to move to Marva IV after Salva II was turned over to the Cardassians as a result of the Federation-Cardassian Treaty. Life was tough in what was basically a frontier settlement, and I learned early on that the only person I could truly rely on was myself.
Not long after my family arrived on Marva IV, my mother died of Levodian Flu. It was an easily treatable disease, but without the proper medical facilities, all we could do was watch her die. As a result of this needless death, my father resigned his Starfleet commission, blaming the Federation bureaucrats and the political process for my mother's death. He made no secret of his feelings, and eventually he was recruited by the Maquis. He remained an active member until his death. He died, along with many others, when the Maquis settlement on Solosos III was attacked with a biogenic weapon by the USS Defiant, under the command of CAPT Sisko.
Following his death, largely through the efforts of a former commander and good friend I was adopted by a Bajoran family, and raised as one of their own.In the years that followed, I realized that in spite of everything, Starfleet was the way for me to go. It was a way for me to better myself, and to possibly make a difference.
Over the course of my career, I came to the sad realization that the Starfleet I was serving was no longer the Starfleet I had enlisted in. Rife with corruption, blind to the dangers facing the Federation from all sides, it was but a shadow of its former self. After 24 years in Starfleet, I resigned to accept a commission in the Bajoran Militia.

My awards include the Starfleet Extended Tour Ribbon, Starfleet Medal of Commendation, and the Cochrane Medal of Excellence(Tactics)
Psychological Profile(FOUO/Classified)
BGEN Rhona is a dedicated, highly experienced officer. She has served with distinction in both Starfleet and the Militia. However, there are issues that are a cause for concern. The first is her... adversarial relationship with those in authority over her, particularly the civilian government. This was a major factor in her decision to leave Starfleet.
The second troublesome trait she displays is her propensity to 'throw the book away' and do things as she sees fit. When asked about this at one point, her response was "The regulations were developed by someone planetside without the faintest idea how things are in the real universe".
In short, BGEN Rhona is the type of officer we want and need in wartime. Away from the front however, the best that can be hoped for is that she doesn't create too much havoc.
