other options for games

Hi guys i have noticed a lot of people don't actually play sto due to funds issues. well a good alternative to staying together is find an alternative. I would like to hear some opinions and ideas on what games you think may be fun for the fleet to play together that are free alternatives.


One trek game i know of that is free to play is star trek armada. its a great strategy based game i used to play in the day if any one needs a down loadable version i may be in my power to mail you a copy of a disk you no longer can buy in stores. mailing it cross seas is probably possible but not sure how much it costs extra but for any one in the us or Canada i can send a disk in a wink and we could have some fun.

Lord of the Rings Online is now free to play and that is certainly well worth taking a look at, I'm an original lifetimer on that so been playing it on and off for some time now. Also don't forget Champions is going free to play next year as well. I'd also recommend checking out Galactic Civilisations 2 if you like 4x, turn based gaming.

intersting i my self will for sure check these games out and i do know a few of the peps already play champions could be interesting.

Champs is based on the same server for cross game chat between STO and itself...

I know of several free MMOs that could be played, but most are of the Fantasy genre such as Runes of Magic. I would like a few partners in that one since I recently got kicked from the guild I was in due to deployment.

I have a lifetime sub with Lotro as well, and I have played Champions in the past but what I am really excited about is the upcoming Star Wars MMO. Just the ability to give your NPC Companions quests and tasks which they continue working on after you log off is interesting enough to make me want to play.

I have lifetime with STO and have been playing more lately, mostly mornings after I get home from work in the Central Time Zone. One thing I hate about STO is that it is very easy to miss notification of Fleet mates loging on or off while you are on.

If you haven't been playing STO or keeping up, the upcoming Season 4 update is looking to be great. There are big changes to your crew coming, like being able to make all the NPC toons on your ship share your uniform choices. Also you are supposed to be able to assign officers to various positions like Chief Engineer and such. Mentioned that these officers might have stat bonuses to certain ship functions if assigned.

Giuld wars is the big free one i play, and gw2 is on the way Recenly iv been playing Dnyasty warriors online alot lately wich is free, but yes i'm one that not on the game mostly do to cost but i might be in better finachle shape soon atlest i hope and pray
