So, Halo: Reach comes out in a little over a week now, and I've got to know if there are any fleet guys (or girls) out there who are pumped about it. I pre-ordered from Gamestop, and am now waiting anxiously for the game to hit the shelves. I'm sooo excited about Forge World, where pretty much anything's possible. It's like a Halo Holodeck... Anywho, are you excited? And for what part?

Re: Halo: Reach
I just picked up a 360 back in June. This is my first console. I've been a PC guy since 1990 (Commadore and Atari computers before that). I was certain I would never become one of those, "Console people". But, here I am. I blame Rock Star and that damned, "Red Dead Redemption" for the game envy that led to the purchase. I now blame Zune Videomarket for keeping me.
All that said, I had considered buying Halo 2 or at least HDST because I knew it was a good shooter series, but was always into the die-hard shooters that originated on the PC first instead of the new trend to port to PC "afterward". I have been watching some of the trailers on Xbox LIVE to get the story. I think for my time and my money, I'm too late for Halo, so I'm going to pass, but not because it's not a worthy purchase. I'm just too old and too late, so I'll hold out for Star Wars: The Old Republic next year. I hope the rest of you boys have fun storming the castle (and girls). Tell the Covenant hello for me (just don't give them my name or address).

Re: Halo: Reach
I'm so excited for this, I loved the beta. Forgeworld looks awesome, and I'm glad that Bungie is implementing matchmaking for Firefight, ODST would have been perfect if it had matchmaking. Gotta love that they're bringing back the classic M6D after Halo 3's god-awful pistol. It would be nice if they gave the automag a place in forgeworld too. As for the poll, I haven't put in my preorder yet because gamestop.ca doesn't accept paypal. I've got to get one of those disposable prepaid credit cards, and then I'll put in my order for the limited edition in all likelihood.

If there is a Gamestop brick/mortar near you, I believe you can pre-pay at the store and designate ship-to-home. Just an idea to keep you from having to purchase a disposable credit card plus activation hassles.

Re: Halo: Reach
That's the thing, I don't have one nearby. The closest one to me is 200 KMs away. It's alright though, I got the card today, activated it and preordered the limited edition and am having it shipped to my mailbox. Can't get it shipped to home anyway, because I live out in the country. Easy as pie, otherwise.
Also, the last time I went into a Gamestop, I asked if they shipped prepaid items out (Pre-order bonuses included) and they told me that they didn't.
