Any Fallout 3 players out there?

Just wrapped up "The Pitt" on my main character last night. I'd done everything the Wasteland had to offer before the DLCs even released, then had to wait for Broken Steel to come out so I could finally start levelling again! I'm wondering what everyone thought of the DLCs. Frankly, I think Bethesda did a WAY better job on these than they did w/the Oblivion DLCs. (Maybe they learned a thing or two...)

I'm really looking forward to Point Lookout next week. From the trailer I DL'ed from Xbox Live the other day, it looks like I might need to hire someone to play a banjo in the background while I play it. "Squeal, boy!"

And then, of course, Mothership Zeta (or whatever it's called). Not sure it meets the "theme" qualifier for Fallout, honestly. I mean sure, there was the crashed saucer out in the Wastes, but it was almost a sort of Easter Egg (despite the IMMENSELY AWESOME Alien Blaster parked there with it). Doesn't exactly seem postapocalyptic to me. Maybe if there's a room somewhere on the alien ship that's full of destroyed refridgerators...

Hey hey. yeah I played fallout 3 on PC. Didn't even know about 2 of the DLCs till they'd already been released. Seems that us PC boys don't get the kind of love and support the 360 gets

Once I have some cash I'm going to grab them.

IIRC, they're releasing the DLCs on individual discs for you PC folk. Of course, the release schedule is as completely effed as it was for the initial release. The first disc (which I could swear I saw in a store this past weekend) has The Pitt & Operation: Anchorage on it. The second disc will have Broken Steel and Point Lookout. (Mothership Zeta, well...?) Not sure what the price point is on these things--that is, whether you're better off buying them individually online or getting 'em on CD. *shrug*

I loved Fallout 3 for the 360. I have completed every quest in the wasteland I have come across. And a friend is currently burrowing it. I didn't get the chance to buy lookout when it came out, but it looks fun. My favorite DLC was anchorage. Mainly because of the Gauss Rifle and the winterized battle suit. ^^

I loved Fallout 3, and I haven't had enough Microsoft Points to buy the DLCs yet, but I hope to get them soon. I haven't played it since I beat the game twice, but I've got Colonel Autumn's pistol thingy, and it's pretty sweet.

Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games I would say. i still need to do Mothership Zeta but I did all the other ones.

i played fallout 3 and hated it. it broke alot of old fallout thingies, and the ending sucked ( i mean, serouisly, with my niromental suit, and rad X went to the places where radiation was much worse...

Thank you. They changed what wasn't broken and screwed the ending. I could have lived with the story line ending itself but I was so disappointed when there was no montage ending like there was in every other Fallout game. One of the coolest things in the past games was seeing what happened to the places after you left.

Good game but poor Fallout IMO.

Yeah I didnt play the old fallouts until fallout 3 was annouced, so it didnt bother me much.

i am really old fallout fan, anyone remembers the demo to first one? with single small town and few raiders to kill inside?both fallout 1 and 2 wer amazing, and tactics were till not so bad, at least in turn mode, the real time sucked. my favourite fallout character build was always 10 luck, lots of agi and some per, so i could kill everything with critical shot in the eyes with .233 pistol ( if yu uever paid attention that this its the gun that was used in blade runner movie:) ) Falout 3 was ... flat compared to old ones. it went through... and was over. the ending of first 2 fallouts wwere constructed so, you hadnt had the presure to come and finish, they were enablng you to wander, becouse you know that you could change thing or just couldnt change things. but the games were open. Fallout 3? Awfully scripted ending. hope someone will make a nice mod that turns it off and save the geme one day >_>

And Don't forget Qoona. The fallout 3 that was released was NOT the original Fallout three. Fallout 3 was in production by Black Isles Studios and was shelved by Interplay. I remember seeing the screenshots and getting all pumped up. Only to be horribly upset by the notice of its demise.

I really only found out about Van Buren (the production name for the original FO3) around the time Bethesda's was in development. That game had such a huge scope for its time that and tell me the Hanged Man doesn't sound like a BA companion. Bethesda could have just taken that game and made it, they could have even kept their engine but just used all of the Van Buren material and it would have been an epic game.

Also Qoona, I was so disappointed when the .223 pistol never showed up.

If/when they make a FO 4 they need to fix what they changed. But Traits back, fix what they changed to the SPECIAL system, and try harder to get the Fallout feel.

One of the best things about the older games were the special encounters. Some fit but others were completely silly to have, and that was awesome. Running around and then bumping into Doctor Who, a crashed ST shuttle (complete with red shirts), or a Mounty Python reference.

Oh and fix the ending to the game. Like I said before the story-line ending was fine but they need to but back the "this was your life and after" segment.
