Re: Star Trek:Bridge Crew
I agree, looks a nice game, thanks for this. Interesting thing that occurred to me was that, of course, part of what made that test run so good was that the players were actual Star Trek actors - the realistic virtual scenery is part of the experience, but so is the crew saying things like "Prepare warp, take us out". It's never going to be as realistic if someone in the next seat is yelling f-words and demanding to know who is "buffing" the "tank". So to some extent RP will make the game, but likewise the game will make RP - I mean, if you can't talk the talk when you actually are looking at the bridge of a starship, you're not trying!
Maybe they should throw in some kind of a script of an example mission to give players the idea - but they'd have to be careful not to make it look like a (gasp!) role-playing game, otherwise might frighten people off! I suppose a little video, like that one, rather than a printed handbook, would do it - that would keep it from looking like the D&D Monster Manual
I wonder, will it be for one VR device only, like the Oculus Rift for instance, or will it be for use on whatever you have, even Google Cardboard or some kind of smartphone adaptor like that if that's the best you can do? We're used to games being only for PC or only for Xbox or whatever, but all a VR device really is is a display device - it's not running the software, as far as I know - so surely it wouldn't make sense for it to develop with every program specific to one device? I mean, surely. That would be as if ordinary games had to be run on a certain brand of monitor.

Re: Star Trek:Bridge Crew
Saw this on our Facebook page. And yes my head exploded. If this is just the start can you imagine five years down the road? Or MMOs strictly in VR space?

Re: Star Trek:Bridge Crew
Just got it last night, you need a rift or vive, because of the motion sensors.
But it IS frigging awesome.
