    On Memorial Day

Post by Ikari_Zaku on Mon May 31, 2010 2:19 pm

Here in the united States, today is Memorial Day. A day set aside to remember those who laid down their lives in the pursuit of freedom. I would like to take this opportunity to remember three individuals who died in the line of duty:
    Sergeant Olgiun
    Sergeant Molina
    Specialist Mixion

All died in and around Sadr City, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom VII-IX (August 2006- November 2008) serving with Comanche Company, 1st Squadron (War Eagles), 2D Cavalry Regiment (Dragoons), US Army. You may be gone but you will not be forgotten.

Please feel free to add to this list the names of those you may have served with or know who had served and died in the line of duty, regardless of the country they served for.

"Do not deny the logic of my argument, I will make it up as I go!" - me

"Love. You can know all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as a turn in the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home." - Captain Mal Reynolds, Serenity

    Memorial Day

    Remembered but not forgotten.

Our UK version of your Memorial Day is called Remembrance Sunday, because it falls on every Sunday on November 11th.
