(Meanwhile Baumer is asleep in the corner with his drink on the table next to him)

Ace looks up again and does a double take. "What the...?" she starts giggling.

Foster casts a sideways glance at the young woman, and then at Baumer. Guile nudges him, with a small nod, reaches behind his back, and slides a bowl of peanuts in between the two on the counter. Both of them grab one, and keep their drinks in their other hands.

Foster whispering, "Guile at the plate.... the count stands at 0-1. The pitcher gives the nod, and winds up. Releasing it, Guile swings...." As he says that, Guile aims a peanut, and tosses it deftly, as it bounces onto Baumer's head and falls off his shoulder. Foster then takes his as Guile picks up,

"Base hit for Guile.... Foster on deck. Good day here, folks.... And here comes the toss...." Foster snaps it thru the air. It bounces on the table, and slides right under Baumer's nose. Both of them turn around, and pretend nothing happened.

(Baumer coughs and sputters a few times, as he is awakened by the fast moving object that had just flown into his mouth. Baumer then chews a couple of times... hmm... did I really just fall asleep with a peanut in my mouth? )

Baumer: Sorry... I think I just dozed off. Who won?

The two men at the bar giggle like little girls with their backs turned to everyone else. Shots are refilled, and they both slam them back.

Ace watches and continues to laugh. As Baumer wakes up she nearly falls out of her chair laughing. She stabelized herself as the chair wabbles.

Baumer: Hmm... well I guess I've obviously had enough for the night. I'm going to hit my quarters. See you all in the morning. (Baumer stands up, grabs another handful of peanuts on the way by and heads for the door.)

Ace composes herself and continues taking notes.

evening shipmates hows everyone doin

Everyone's gone. Off to the unnamed bar on Serenity.

OOC: except ace, who's stuck there... all alone... sad ace.

Lieutenant David Abernathy walks in and sits down the bar from Ace, he orders a sweet tea andsits back, studying a data pad. You notice him, and he notices you.

OOC: Bow chica bow wow!

OOC: uber lol btw, she's at a table at the edge of the room.

Ace blinks in embarrassment and looks away. A long wave of golden blond hair falls over her shoulder, obstructing her face from view.

Abernathy blinks. "Did I just see her hair change color?" he asked himself as he stood from his stool and went over to the attractive young lady.

"Hi." he said."My name's David Abernathy, I'm the Tactical Officer aboard the USS Dark Knight. What is a beautiful young woman like you doing in such a curious place as this?" he said, putting his datapad away and sitting down.

Ace looks up and does likewise with her datapad. "No, my hair's always been blond. Maybe you're thinking my senior officer, Elli Hardtack." She smiles and sits up straighter. "Ensign Allimah Saffa, Navigator and Stellar Cartographer aboard the USS Valiance. Everybody calls me Ace." She offers her hand. "Nice to meet you." The last bit stuck out in her strong Australian accent. She looked away selfconsciously. "I've been people watching, and writing..mostly writing."
