A poem

I normally write fanfics, not poems. But I was feeling poetic, so cobbled this quick thing out. You can tell I don't normally do these. Put it here since it's not really rp/fanfic related.


A lone flower stands on the grassy knoll,
Strong winds bending the stalk.
The others lean against each other,
Keeping their backs up strong.
The field sways in chaos,
Groups of flowers helping each other.
A lone flower stands on the grassy knoll,
Watching the others taking it easy.
It stands defiant, strong,
Seeing the world around it.
It learns to lean into the wind,
To use it to keep upright.
The others look up in awe,
At the lone flower standing on the grassy knoll.
They admire the strength it has,
To endure the punishing gale.
They admire the fortitude it has,
To fight the winds every day.
They admire the drive,
To stay in place.
A lone flower stands on the grassy knoll,
It's pollen long since blown away.
A lone flower stands on the grassy knoll,
It's roots tangled deep.
A lone flower stands on the grassy knoll,
It's stem cracked from the wind.
A lone flower stands on the grassy knoll,
Battered, damaged, but still standing.
