    Tier 6 ships

    With the increase of Star Trek Online's level cap from 50 to 60, we felt it was only natural to introduce a new tier of starships. In addition to the normal features you'd expect from a higher tier starship (hull hit points, an additional console slot, etc.), we are also adding several unique features to this tier of ships such as: an additional bridge officer ability slot, access to Specialist Bridge Officer seats, Starship Mastery, and a Starship Trait. However, these are only some of the unique aspects to these ships. So, without further ado, here is an explanation of what makes Tier 6 ships so special.



    Tier 6 ships gain stat improvements that you would expect from a new tier of starship. These ships gain an additional console slot, an additional bridge officer ability slot, and a sizeable amount of additional hit points. A new feature of Tier 6 ships is that their hit points increase as the captain levels up.

    Each time your captain gains a level beyond 50 (up to level 60) the starship’s hit points will increase. These ships are intended to grow with the captain. This feature allows Tier 6 starships to be available at level 50 without making them have more hit points than Tier 5 ships do at that level.

    Example: At level 50 your Tier 6 starship might have 35,000 hit points, while at level 60 it will have 40,000.



    We really wanted this tier of starships to stand out and offer some unique features not found anywhere else. These ships can (but don’t always) have hybrid bridge officer seats that can slot Specialist Bridge Officers. These special officers have access to two complete pools of bridge officer abilities. One of these pools is a complete suite of all new bridge officer abilities, while the other is an existing profession: Tactical, Science or Engineering. It’s important to note that while these ships don’t always feature a Specialist Bridge Officer seat, all of the Tier 6 ships launching with Delta Rising will feature at least one of these special seats.

    That said, we’re not quite ready to fully reveal the new {REDACTED} Bridge Officers. You can expect to get a full reveal of this new type of Bridge Officer in the very near future! Stay tuned!





    Another interesting aspect of Tier 6 ships is the new Starship Mastery system. This system represents your captain and crew mastering the starship and discovering its full capabilities over time. All Tier 6 ships have the ability to become more powerful as the captain gains Skill Points. This allows the starship to effectively “Level Up”.

    Tier 6 starships start at level 0 and progress to level 5 as the captain plays the game normally. At each level (up to level 4), the starship gains a new passive ability that provides a sizeable boost to a stat like damage resistance, critical hit chance, or hit points. These passive abilities are specific to the ship that has unlocked them and each starship within a given category shares the same package of passive abilities.

    Example: All Battlecruisers have the same four passive abilities in their Starship Mastery.



    Upon reaching Starship Mastery level 5 a Starship Trait will be unlocked. This special trait can be slotted into any of your four Starship Trait slots. This is a new set of trait slots that will be available to all characters upon achieving level 50. These special traits add powerful effects to your starship or your existing captain and bridge officer abilities. Since Starship Traits can be slotted, they can be used while flying any starship you own even if they are not Tier 6.



    One of our goals with Tier 6 ships is to have the ability to introduce new game mechanics with some ships. We’d like to be able to offer new gameplay through new types of starships found in this tier. Some Tier 6 ships will be very much what you’re used to. You’ll see Cruisers, Battlecruisers, Escorts, Raptors, etc. However, you’ll also see new takes on these existing ship types like the {REDACTED} ships being introduced in Delta Rising!





    Q: Is my ship’s hit points based on my captain’s current level or the amount of Skill Points I’ve earned while flying the ship?
    A: Tier 6 starship hit points scale as your captain levels up. The value is based entirely upon your captain’s current level and scales based on that.

    Q: Are my Skill Points split between my starship and my captain?
    A: Your captain and starship gain Skill Points simultaneously. There’s no splitting or loss of Skill Points.

    Q: If I unlock Starship Mastery passive powers on one ship category, do other ships within the same category have the passive powers unlocked?
    A: Starship Mastery passive powers are unlocked on a per-ship basis. Since they represent a captain and crew’s affinity with the ship they must be unlocked for each ship you own.

    Q: What’s up with all the {REDACTED}?!
    A: We’re committed to revealing everything regarding Delta Rising (except the story). All will be revealed in time. Stay tuned, more will be revealed over the coming weeks.

    We’re super excited to reveal these new starships. We’ll be talking about the specifics and stats of these new ships very soon, so keep an eye out!

    Hi! Samuel “Swallrus” Wall here - the new Art Lead for STO! I wanted to give you a sneak peek of what the ship team has been working tirelessly to give you. They outdid themselves with the command ships and have made each faction ship have unique interchangeable parts with its counterpart command ships. When obtaining 2 different ships of the same faction, the player will have the ability to interchange pieces between those 2 ships. Throughout the blog, you'll get to see a preview of some of the great customization options you'll have with your ships.


    Introduction

    We’re very excited to announce the brand new Tier 6 Command Battlecruisers that will be released soon. With the release of our anniversary update we added the awesome new Command Captain Specialization tree and Command Bridge Officers. These new starships will allow you to truly take advantage of these new Bridge Officer abilities.

    Availability

    Command Battlecruisers will be made available in the C-Store very soon. These starships have three variants per faction and are available in three ways:

    Individually (3000 ZEN each)
    Faction Bundles of all three variants at a discount (6000 ZEN each)
    A Super Bundle that includes all three variants for all three factions at a huge discount (12000 ZEN)


    Please Note: Captains who purchase single ships will be unable to purchase bundles containing that ship.

    Inspiration Mechanic

    Command ships are impressive vessels designed to inspire those around them. When the Command ship or its team mates activate any Bridge Officer ability, all Command Ships on the team will receive a small amount of the Inspiration resource. Command Bridge Officer abilities generate additional Inspiration. Once a Command ship's Inspiration meter is full, they can use one of three powerful abilities that can turn the tide of battle.



    Inspiration

    This resource is built when anybody on your team activates a bridge officer ability. Command Bridge Officer abilities generate more Inspiration. To account for fewer players activating bridge officer abilities when on smaller teams or playing solo, you gain a bonus to Inspiration generation in these circumstances. That said, you will generally be able to generate Inspiration more quickly in a full team.



    Inspiration Abilities

    When your Inspiration meter is full, you will be able to use one of these three powerful abilities:

    Against All Odds

    Team Damage Buff and Weapon Power Cost Reduction

    While active, you and your team mates will gain a substantial bonus to damage as well as a massive reduction in weapon power cost. Activating this ability requires a full bar of Inspiration. Multiple stacks of this ability will extend the duration instead of stacking the potency of the effect.

    Battle Preparation

    Team Bridge Officer Ability Recharge

    When activated, all of your team's Bridge Officer abilities will receive a massive reduction in remaining recharge time. This will cause most abilities to immediately fully recharge or very nearly fully recharge. Activating this ability requires a full bar of Inspiration, has a longer recharge time than other Inspiration abilities, and once affected by this ability, you can neither use nor be affected by this ability for a period of time.

    Turn the Tide

    Team Resistance and Hull Regen Buff

    While active, you and your team mates will regenerate hull hit points very quickly and have their damage resistances increased substantially. Activating this ability requires a full bar of Inspiration. Multiple stacks of this ability will extend the duration instead of stacking the potency of the effect.

    Command Specialist Bridge Officer Seats

    All of these ships also include a Commander Engineering/Command hybrid specialist bridge officer seat as well as a second Lieutenant rank Command hybrid specialist bridge officer seat. The primary profession for this seat varies per Command Battlecruiser variant.

    With the ceasefire in the Federation and Klingon war and the rise of the Romulan Republic, joint operations have become more of a priority for Starfleet. Examinations of captains' after-action reports revealed the need for a new type of starship to lead these teams. In response, a Starfleet Corps of Engineers team at the San Francisco Shipyards developed the Command Battlecruiser ships to act as a mobile command center. The Command Battlecruiser's advanced communications array can relay battle-critical information instantaneously and inspire allies to the best performance.



    This Tier 6 starship is an engineering centric variant of the Command Battlecruiser. It features more engineering console slots and engineering bridge officer seats than the other Command Battlecruiser variants.

    Command Battlecruiser Consoles

    Each of the above Command Battlecruisers and Warbirds is equipped with a universal console. Below is a summary of what each of these consoles do:

    Console – Universal – Fleet Defense Platform

    The Concorde, An’quat and Baratan class Command ships come equipped with the Fleet Support Platform. While the Fleet Support Platform console is equipped, your starship can launch a mobile shield repair platform that will follow your starship for a while. Allies within 3km of the Fleet Support Platform will have their shields repaired and hardened. This console also provides a passive boost to maximum hull hit points.

    This console may be equipped on any Command Battlecruiser or Command Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Console – Universal – Tachyon Pulse Platform

    The Geneva, Klinzhai and Deihu class Command ships come equipped with the Tachyon Pulse Platform. While the Tachyon Pulse Platform console is equipped, your starship can deploy a stationary shield draining platform. Enemies that get too close to this platform will have their shields rapidly drained. This console also provides a small passive boost to shield hardness and shield healing.

    This console may be equipped on any Command Battlecruiser or Command Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Console – Universal – Defense Platform

    The Presidio, An’quat and Vastam class Command ships come come equipped with a Defense Platform. While the Defense Platform console is equipped, your starship can launch a formidable weapons platform. This platform will be deployed at your current position and will fire beam arrays at nearby enemies.
    Additionally, it will deploy a large number of mines in the vicinity. Once these mines are detonated, they will be replaced after a short time. Equipping this console also provides a moderate boost to projectile damage.

    This console may be equipped on any Command Battlecruiser or Command Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.



    Command Platforms Console Set

    This console set consists of the following consoles:

    Console – Universal - Fleet Support Platform (Concorde, An’quat and Baratam Classes)
    Console – Universal – Tachyon Pulse Platform (Geneva, Klinzhai and Deihu Classes)
    Console – Universal – Defense Platform (Presidio, Ty’Gokor and Vastam Classes)
    Console – Universal – Regenerative Integrity Field (Kobali Samsar Cruiser)


    Equipping consoles from this set will unlock 2, 3 and 4 piece set bonuses:

    Integrated Enhanced RCS Module (2 piece)

    +Kinetic Damage Resistance Rating
    +All Energy Damage Resistance Rating
    +Flight Turn Rate


    Encrypted Command Frequencies (3 piece)

    Your Bridge Officer abilities build 33% more Inspiration for yourself
    +Maximum Shield Capacity


    Command Platform Synergy (4 piece)

    +Energy Weapon Damage
    Upgrades Command Battlecruiser platform console abilities:
    Defense Platform : Create a second Defense Platform
    Fleet Support Platform: The platform will now also heal ally hull for a moderate amount in addition to regenerating shields
    Tachyon Pulse Platform: Increases the range of the Tachyon Pulse beams from 5km to 10km




    Starship Traits

    Reaching starship mastery level 5 in any of the above Command Battlecruisers and Warbirds will unlock a new starship trait. Below is a summary of these starship traits:

    Improved Brace for Impact

    After achieving level 5 in the Concorde, An’quat or Baratan Class Command ship’s starship mastery, you will unlock the Improved Brace for Impact starship trait. While this trait is slotted activating Brace for Impact grants you a very large amount of Temporary Hit Points for a short period of time.

    Improved Tachyon Beam

    After achieving level 5 in the Geneva, Klinzhai or Deihu Class Command ship’s starship mastery, you will unlock the Improved Tachyon Beam starship trait. While this trait is slotted Tachyon Beam will now regenerate the shields of allies near the target.

    All Hands on Deck

    After achieving level 5 in the Presidio, Ty’Gokor or Vastam Class Command ship’s starship mastery, you will unlock the All Hands on Deck starship trait. While this trait is slotted, activating a Tactical or Command Bridge Officer ability will reduce the recharge time of Science Bridge Officer and Captain abilities. This may only occur once every few seconds.

    Q&A
    Inspiration

    Q: Can you better explain how building Inspiration works in regards to team size?

    A: The amount of the Inspiration resource that is built is dependent upon two things:

    Type of ability
    Team size

    As mentioned above, Command Bridge Officer abilities will generate bonus Inspiration and the smaller your team size, the more Inspiration each individual contributor will add to the Inspiration pools of Command ships on your team. This bonus is largest when you are solo. That said, you will almost always fill your Inspiration meter more quickly when you’re on a full team.

    Command Battlecruiser Stats


    Klingon Command Battlecruiser Variants


    The new spirit of détente in Operation Delta Rising has led to more cooperation between engineering teams throughout the Alpha Quadrant. When the Starfleet Corps of Engineers shared some of the specifications for Starfleet's new Command Battlecruisers with the teams from the Klingon Defense Force, the empire's engineers decided to take the technology and give it a uniquely Klingon spin. While the Klingon Command Battlecruiser acts as a mobile command center and can inspire and inform fleet allies, it is designed specifically for battle. The Command Battlecruiser incorporates innovations from KDF battle cruisers to make it the ultimate vessel for fleet operations.



    This Tier 6 starship is an engineering centric variant of the Command Battlecruiser.

While the Fleet Support Platform console is equipped, your starship can launch a mobile shield repair platform that will follow your starship for a while. Allies within 3km of the Fleet Support Platform will have their shields repaired and hardened. This console also provides a passive boost to maximum hull hit points.

    This console may be equipped on any Command Battlecruiser or Command Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Console – Universal – Tachyon Pulse Platform

    The Geneva, Klinzhai and Deihu class Command ships come equipped with the Tachyon Pulse Platform. While the Tachyon Pulse Platform console is equipped, your starship can deploy a stationary shield draining platform. Enemies that get too close to this platform will have their shields rapidly drained. This console also provides a small passive boost to shield hardness and shield healing.

    This console may be equipped on any Command Battlecruiser or Command Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Console – Universal – Defense Platform

    The Presidio, An’quat and Vastam class Command ships come come equipped with a Defense Platform. While the Defense Platform console is equipped, your starship can launch a formidable weapons platform. This platform will be deployed at your current position and will fire beam arrays at nearby enemies.
    Additionally, it will deploy a large number of mines in the vicinity. Once these mines are detonated, they will be replaced after a short time. Equipping this console also provides a moderate boost to projectile damage.

    This console may be equipped on any Command Battlecruiser or Command Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Starship Traits

    Reaching starship mastery level 5 in any of the above Command Battlecruisers and Warbirds will unlock a new starship trait. Below is a summary of these starship traits:

    Improved Brace for Impact

    After achieving level 5 in the Concorde, An’quat or Baratan Class Command ship’s starship mastery, you will unlock the Improved Brace for Impact starship trait. While this trait is slotted activating Brace for Impact grants you a very large amount of Temporary Hit Points for a short period of time.

    Improved Tachyon Beam

    After achieving level 5 in the Geneva, Klinzhai or Deihu Class Command ship’s starship mastery, you will unlock the Improved Tachyon Beam starship trait. While this trait is slotted Tachyon Beam will now regenerate the shields of allies near the target.

    All Hands on Deck

    After achieving level 5 in the Presidio, Ty’Gokor or Vastam Class Command ship’s starship mastery, you will unlock the All Hands on Deck starship trait. While this trait is slotted, activating a Tactical or Command Bridge Officer ability will reduce the recharge time of Science Bridge Officer and Captain abilities. This may only occur once every few seconds.

    Inspiration

    Q: Can you better explain how building Inspiration works in regards to team size?

    A: The amount of the Inspiration resource that is built is dependent upon two things:

    Type of ability
    Team size

    As mentioned above, Command Bridge Officer abilities will generate bonus Inspiration and the smaller your team size, the more Inspiration each individual contributor will add to the Inspiration pools of Command ships on your team. This bonus is largest when you are solo. That said, you will almost always fill your Inspiration meter more quickly when you’re on a full team.

    In the previous Command Battlecruiser introduction blog we unveiled this new ship type and the Inspiration mechanic.
    In this blog we’ll reveal these ships’ stats, console abilities, set bonuses and starship traits.

    Availability

    Command Battlecruisers will be made available in the C-Store very soon.
    These starships have three variants per faction and are available in three ways:

    Individually (3000 ZEN each)
    Faction Bundles of all three variants at a discount (6000 ZEN each)
    A Super Bundle that includes all three variants for all three factions at a huge discount (12000 ZEN)


    Please Note: Captains who purchase single ships will be unable to purchase bundles containing that ship.



    Command Battlecruiser Stats


    Romulan Republic Command Warbirds


    Engineers from the Romulan Republic have looked at new command ship designs from their allies in both Starfleet and Klingon Defense Force. Rather than contract with those groups to build ships for their fleet, the Republic has instead chosen to design and commission a new series of Command Warbirds to be constructed at the New Romulus Shipyards. These ships are designed to act as mobile command centers that will inspire allies with instantaneous informational updates throughout a battle. They are also built to please the Romulan desire for grand scale, creating large, tough Warbirds that can lead a fleet into combat.

    We’re very excited to introduce three new Tier 6 ship options, each based on existing iconic starships. Starfleet will have access to the Andromeda Class Exploration Cruiser, which is a Tier 6 version of the Galaxy Class Exploration Cruiser. Klingons have the Negh’Tev Heavy Battlecruiser, which is a Tier 6 version of the Negh’Var Heavy Battlecruiser. Lastly, Romulans will have access to the D’Khellra Battlecruiser Warbird, which is a tier 6 version of the D’Deridex Battlecruiser Warbird. All three have been given a 2410 facelift, much like was done for the Pathfinder Class Long Range Science Vessel.



    Items and Abilities

    Each of these new Tier 6 starships come equipped with the Molecular Cohesion Nullifier universal console which causes damage to nearby enemies and provides a damage resistance buff to yourself. Both the damage caused to enemies and the damage resistance buff you earn are increased by the number of affected foes. This console’s effect is deadly versus fighters. In addition, while equipped, this console also provides a passive bonus to max sub-system power levels.



    Additionally, each of these ships can unlock the Explosive Polarity Shift starship trait at level 5 starship mastery. While this trait is slotted, your Engineering Bridge Officer’s Reverse Shield Polarity will cause a large damaging explosion centered around you when the effect expires.



    Costumes

    Each of these new ships has their own new costume, but can also use parts from ships within the same family. The Andromeda Class Exploration Cruiser gains access to parts from the Galaxy and Monarch costumes and can also use parts from the Venture Class if you own that starship. The Negh’Tev Heavy Battlecruiser has access to both the Negh’Var and the Qu’Daj costumes. The D’Khellra Warbird Battlecruiser can use the D’Deridex costume, and if you own the D’ridthau costume you can also use its interchangeable costume parts.

    In addition to all this, all Negh’Var variants (including the Negh’Tev) will have access to the new voDleH costume for free.



    Availability

    These starships are all available in the C-store individually or they can be found packaged together in the T6 Cross Faction Cruiser Bundle.

    Concurrent with the release of these Tier 6 ships, we have also updated the look of the original Galaxy and Negh’Var starships to better match their counterparts from Star Trek canon.

    For the Galaxy, a brand new model has been made. Starship connoisseurs will enjoy finding all of the small features and details pulled from the source material such as the numbered shuttle bays or the ship’s giant arboretum windows.



    This new Galaxy model will replace the existing version of the Galaxy automatically and is available for all Exploration Cruiser variants.

    Note: to see some of the details of the new Galaxy model, players may have to visit the starship tailor and select the “Galaxy” preset, which will add the new parts which did not previously exist on the original model.

    The Negh’Var also received some attention. It now includes the large weapon pods attached to the ship’s wings that were a signature part of its threatening profile when it appeared in Deep Space Nine. These weapon pods are a new customization option available to any version of the Negh’Var Heavy Battlecruiser.

    Additionally, a new variant of the Heavy Battlecruiser has been added, named the voDleh. The voDleh was first seen in The Next Generation’s series finale “All Good Things” and was the basis for the Negh’Var when it appeared in Deep Space Nine years later. The voDleh variant is a free additional variant available to any version of the Heavy Battlecruiser.

    We’re quite excited to reveal the statics and specifics for the Andromeda Class Exploration Cruiser, Negh’Tev Heavy Battlecruiser and the D’Khellra Warbird Battlecruiser. Each of these Tier 6 ships are based on existing iconic Star Trek ships. All three come with a special console and can unlock a powerful starship trait at level 5 Starship Mastery. Without further ado, here are the stats for these impressive ships.



    Following the success of the Pathfinder class in Operation Delta Rising, Starfleet Corps of Engineers teams at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards began work on updates of other core ship designs in the Federation fleet. The Andromeda Exploration Cruiser is the first ship from this effort to be released to Starfleet captains. An update of the famed Galaxy class that was the flagship of Starfleet in the mid-24th century, the Andromeda incorporates updated technology developed to give this ship improved capabilities for the difficult challenges Starfleet faces in the months ahead.

    This starship features a Lieutenant Commander Engineering/Command specialist seat.

    The Andromeda Class Exploration Cruiser has its own unique costumes and gains access to parts from the Galaxy and Monarch costumes and can also use parts from the Venture Class if you own that starship.

    Experimental shielding technology has taken a turn towards offensive weaponry, allowing this device to generate a local field that damages the molecular bonds of matter in a short radius. The Molecular Cohesion Nullifier Field will also protect the user from all sources of damage while active. Both the damage and damage resistance effects will resonate at more powerful frequencies, based on how many foes are within the affected area. In addition, while equipped, this console also provides a passive bonus to max sub-system power levels.

    Explosive Polarity Shift (Starship Trait)

    After achieving level 5 in your Andromeda Class Exploration Cruiser [T6], Negh'Tev Heavy Battlecruiser [T6] or D’Khellra Warbird Battlecruiser [T6] Starship Mastery, you will unlock the Explosive Polarity Shift starship trait. While this trait is slotted Reverse Shield Polarity will absorb incoming damage and convert it into a kinetic blast upon expiration.



    Q&A

    Q: Will there be fleet versions of these ships?

    A: Yes! Each of these ships gain +1 Engineering console slot and +10% Maximum hull hit points and +10% Maximum shield capacity. They will be made available upon release of these three new ships. They are unlocked upon reaching tier 4 in your starbase’s shipyard.

    It should be noted that Fleet Tier 6 ships do not come with a 5th level of Starship Mastery and thus do not have a Starship Trait.

    Q: Why isn’t the Negh’Tev’s Molecular Cohesion Nullifier console part of a set?

    A: No other Negh’Var variants came with a console, so there were no consoles with which to make a set.

    Q: How many fleet modules do these Tier 6 ships cost?

    A: Tier 6 Fleet ships cost 5 fleet modules if you do not own the non-fleet Tier 6 version of the ship and 1 fleet module if you do.

    Example: If you own the Guardian Cruiser [T6] and want to purchase the Fleet Guardian Cruiser [T6] it will cost 1 fleet module, otherwise if you do not own the non-fleet version it will cost 5 fleet modules.

    Q: Do Tier 6 Fleet ships come with a starship trait?

    A: Tier 6 Fleet ships have four levels of Starship Mastery, like T5-U ships and therefore do not have a starship trait.

    The Olean is a significantly updated model of the Xindi-Insectoid Escorts encountered during the Xindi Crisis in the mid 22nd Century. The Tier 6 Xindi-Insectoid Olaen Heavy Escort Carrier isn't as fast or nimble as similar ships in its class, but it makes up for this with additional durability, powerful shields and the ability to launch fighter craft.

    The Xindi-Insectoid Olaen Heavy Escort Carrier features two specialist seats: 1 Lieutenant Tactical/Pilot seat and 1 Lieutenant Commander Science/Command seat.

    The Xindi-Insectoid Olaen Heavy Escort Carrier has a single hangar bay equipped with Xindi-Insectoid Castroi Fighters.

    The swarming bio-matter generated by this incubator has a rudimentary animal-like level of intelligence. It has been engineered to seek out enemies in space combat, in an effort to degenerate their ships' hull capacity and maneuverability. It is loaded into a projectile casing for delivery, intended to impact against an enemy's hull with explosive force before delivering the biological payload.

    This universal console also provides a passive buff to your Kinetic and Physical Damage Resistance Rating.

    This Console Mod can be equipped only on Xindi starships, in any console slot. You may only equip one of these mods.



    Council of Thought (Starship Trait)

    After reaching level 5 in the Xindi-Insectoid Olaen Heavy Escort Carrier's Starship Mastery you will unlock the Council of Thought starship trait. While slotted, you will benefit from the awareness offered by having coordinated allies nearby, gaining increased Defense and Damage Resistance for each ally within 10km.



    The Ateleth is a heavily updated and more advanced version of the Xindi-Primate warships encountered during the Xindi Crisis in the mid 22nd Century. While the Ateleth is classified as a Dreadnought Cruiser due to its capabilities, it is smaller and more agile than most ships within this class.

    This starship features two specialist seats: 1 Lieutenant Engineering/Intel seat and 1 Lieutenant Commander Universal/Command seat.

    The Xindi-Primate Ateleth Dreadnought Cruiser has a single hangar bay equipped with Xindi-Primate Nusuti Heavy Fighters.

    Console – Universal – Subspace Kemocite Deployment

    The Xindi-Primate Ateleth Dreadnought Cruiser comes equipped with a Subspace Kemocite Deployment console. While equipped, you will be able to coordinate a strike via subspace vortex, using this unique beacon technology conceptualized by the Xindi-Arboreals. This beacon will open a subspace vortex through which a swarm of kemocite-tipped warheads will be launched at nearby foes. Though their targeting is a bit imprecise, their considerable payload should make up for it.

    This universal console provides a passive bonus to maximum shields and reduces all damage dealt to shields by a small amount.

    This Console Mod can be equipped in any console slot. It may be equipped on any Xindi ship. You may only equip one of these mods.

    Superweapon Ingenuity (Starship Trait)

    After reaching level 5 in the Xindi-Primate Ateleth Dreadnought Cruiser's Starship Mastery you will unlock the Superweapon Ingenuity starship trait. While slotted, activating Beam: Overload I, II or III firing mode, you will be granted an extra charge of Beam: Overload I, allowing you to fire two massive blasts of energy back-to-back.
    Superweapon Ingenuity can be triggered once every 30 seconds.

    In the previous Pilot Ship introduction blog we revealed the new pilot ship type and the Pilot Maneuvers mechanic. This blog will cover these ships’ stats, console abilities, set bonuses and their starship traits.

    Availability

    Pilot ships will be made available in the C-Store soon. These starships have three variants per faction and are available in three ways:

    Individually (3000 ZEN each)
    Faction bundles of all three variants (6000 ZEN each)
    A Super bundle that includes all three variants for all three factions (12000 ZEN)

    Please Note: Captains who purchase single ships will be unable to purchase bundles containing that ship.

    Pilot Ship Stats

    Starfleet Pilot Escort Variants

    The dramatic flight maneuvers of groups such as Red Squadron have always been a place for pilots at Starfleet Academy to show off their skills, but dramatic maneuvers and quick changes in position aren't always possible at the helm of a massive starship. To find a balance between speed and firepower, a ship design team at Utopia Planitia has created a line of starships for pilot commanders. These small, nimble ships have the power needed to take on even the mighty Heralds, but the speed needed to escape danger in an instant.




    This Tier 6 starship is an engineering centric variant of the Pilot Escort. It features more engineering console slots and higher-rank engineering bridge officer seats than the other Pilot Escort variants.

    Each of the above Pilot Ships is equipped with a universal console. Below is a summary of what each of these consoles do:

    Console – Universal – Subspace Eddy

    Pilot Escorts can equip a Subspace Eddy console that leaves a powerful subspace current behind the ship. The eddy pulls other vessels along in the wake of the ship's trail and also inflicts a small amount of kinetic damage on the hull due to the crushing force of the current.

    This console also provides a passive boost to your resistance to -speed and -turn rate effects that scales with your throttle level.

    This console may be equipped on any Pilot Escort, Pilot Raptor or Pilot Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots.
    You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Console – Universal – Spatial Sinkhole Generator

    The Icarus, Klavek and Jaeih class Pilot ships come equipped with a Spatial Sinkhole Generator that creates a spatial sinkhole directly along the ship's forward line. A Spatial Sinkhole creates a tremendous amount of graviton shear, which increases hull pressure on nearby ships and draws them in toward the phenomenon, much like other forms of gravity wells. Ships affected by this phenomenon suffer immense pressure on their hulls, which reduces their Damage Resistance, as the hull tends to buckle under any additional strain.

    This console also provides a moderate passive boost to Exotic damage.

    This console may be equipped on any Pilot Escort, Pilot Raptor or Pilot Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Console – Universal – Microprojectile Barrage Launcher

    The Mercury, Kortar and Okhala class Pilot ships come equipped with a Microprojectile Barrage Launchers that launch swarms of kinetic missiles against up to 5 foes in a 90 degree arc in front of you for a short period of time. Unlike standard projectiles, these do not need a target, as they will automatically lock on to any target in the arc of fire. Enemies that are hit will be knocked away by the explosion and spun slightly in a random direction.

    This console also provides a moderate passive boost projectile weapon damage.

    This console may be equipped on any Pilot Escort, Pilot Raptor or Pilot Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Starship Traits

    Reaching starship mastery level 5 in any of the above Pilot ships will unlock a new starship trait. Below is a summary of these starship traits:

    Structural Integrity Overcharge

    After reaching level 5 in the Ajax, Qui’Tu or Khaiell class Pilot ship’s starship mastery, you will unlock the Structural Integrity Overcharge starship trait. While this trait is slotted, you will gain bonus hull regeneration based on how high you set your base (unmodified) engine power.

    Subwarp Sheath

    After reaching level 5 in the Icarus, Klavek or Jaeih class Pilot ship’s starship mastery, you will unlock the Subwarp Sheath starship trait. While this trait is slotted, you will gain armor penetration with all weapons (amount based on your speed).

    Stay On Target

    After reaching level 5 in the Mercury, Kortar or Okhala class Pilot ship’s starship mastery, you will unlock the Stay On Target starship trait. While this trait is slotted, keeping your current target in your forward 90 degree arc causes your ship to autofire a microtorpedo every few seconds.

    Pilot Maneuvers



    Q: How frequently can I use a Pilot Maneuver?

    A: After using a Pilot Maneuver, there will be a short time (measured in seconds not minutes) before you can perform another one.

    Q: Can I disable double tap to perform a Pilot Maneuver?

    A: Yes. You will be able to disable the double tap feature on the Pilot Maneuver UI.
    From the same UI you can manually perform these maneuvers if you wish.

    Q: Are there any restrictions to using Pilot Maneuvers?

    A: Yes. These Tactical Maneuvers are disabled while your engines are offline, you are cloaked, or you are under the effects of skills such as Eject Warp Plasma, Gravity Well, and Tractor Beam

    In the previous Pilot Ship introduction blog we revealed the new pilot ship type and the Pilot Maneuvers mechanic. This blog will cover these ships’ stats, console abilities, set bonuses and their starship traits.

    Availability

    Pilot ships will be made available in the C-Store soon. These starships have three variants per faction and are available in three ways:

    Individually (3000 ZEN each)
    Faction bundles of all three variants (6000 ZEN each)
    A Super bundle that includes all three variants for all three factions (12000 ZEN)

    Please Note: Captains who purchase single ships will be unable to purchase bundles containing that ship.

    Klingon Pilot Raptor Variants

    Klingon Raptors have always been among the most maneuverable and powerful ships in the quadrant, but recent advances in technology have shown that even the most feared of ships can be improved upon. Therefore, a team at Ganalda Station has developed designs for new warships intended for captains who value speed as well as firepower. These small, nimble ships have the power needed to take on even the mighty Heralds, but the speed needed to escape danger in an instant.

    Each of the above Pilot Ships is equipped with a universal console. Below is a summary of what each of these consoles do:

    Console – Universal – Subspace Eddy

    Pilot Escorts can equip a Subspace Eddy console that leaves a powerful subspace current behind the ship. The eddy pulls other vessels along in the wake of the ship's trail and also inflicts a small amount of kinetic damage on the hull due to the crushing force of the current.

    This console also provides a passive boost to your resistance to -speed and -turn rate effects that scales with your throttle level.

    This console may be equipped on any Pilot Escort, Pilot Raptor or Pilot Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots.
    You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Console – Universal – Spatial Sinkhole Generator

    The Icarus, Klavek and Jaeih class Pilot ships come equipped with a Spatial Sinkhole Generator that creates a spatial sinkhole directly along the ship's forward line. A Spatial Sinkhole creates a tremendous amount of graviton shear, which increases hull pressure on nearby ships and draws them in toward the phenomenon, much like other forms of gravity wells. Ships affected by this phenomenon suffer immense pressure on their hulls, which reduces their Damage Resistance, as the hull tends to buckle under any additional strain.

    This console also provides a moderate passive boost to Exotic damage.

    This console may be equipped on any Pilot Escort, Pilot Raptor or Pilot Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.

    Console – Universal – Microprojectile Barrage Launcher

    The Mercury, Kortar and Okhala class Pilot ships come equipped with a Microprojectile Barrage Launchers that launch swarms of kinetic missiles against up to 5 foes in a 90 degree arc in front of you for a short period of time. Unlike standard projectiles, these do not need a target, as they will automatically lock on to any target in the arc of fire. Enemies that are hit will be knocked away by the explosion and spun slightly in a random direction.

    This console also provides a moderate passive boost projectile weapon damage.

    This console may be equipped on any Pilot Escort, Pilot Raptor or Pilot Warbird, but can be put into any of their console slots. You may only equip one of these consoles.

    i have a Ajax class pilot ship and i am having a blast with it. i still think it is a ugly little ship but the pilot abilities really make up for it

    Console - Universal - Metaphasic Solar Capacitor

    The Ferengi Metaphasic Solar Capacitor collects background solar radiation and stores it in a metaphasic matrix.
    This provides a small passive bonus to shield healing, shield hardness and exotic damage.
    However, when activated, the Capacitor generates a powerful, but temporary metaphasic field. As long as the field is active, it improves Shield Hardness, all Shield Healing abilities, and Exotic Damage significantly.
    Once this effect expires it disables the passive benefits from this console for 2 minutes.

    This Console Mod can be equipped in any console slot on either the Ferengi D'Kora Marauder or the Ferengi Nandi. You may only equip one of these mods on any single ship.



    Greedy Emitters (Starship Trait)

    After achieving level 5 in the Ferengi Warship's starship mastery, you will unlock the Greedy Emitters trait.
    While this trait is slotted using the Energy Siphon, Tachyon Beam, or Tyken’s Rift Science Bridge Officer Abilities gives a buff which grants immunity to energy drain, reduces energy weapons power usage, and increases your subsystem power levels for 10 seconds. This buff may be triggered once every 30 seconds.
