Dyson Joint Command Reputation

The Dyson Joint Command was founded as a response to the Voth’s appearance in the Solanae Dyson Sphere in the Delta Quadrant. The Voth have been gathering the sphere’s technology, and some Voth theorize that the Sphere might have been built and then abandoned by their ancestors. Voth Doctrine states that they are the first and most technologically advanced species in all of the Delta Quadrant and therefore should be the sole inheritors of the Sphere’s technology.

At first glance this might appear rather innocuous, but detailed scans and surveillance unveil that the Voth’s primary purpose is to control the REDACTED generated by the spires in the Solanae Dyson Sphere. Should the Voth gain control of the REDACTED, the consequences could be dire for the entire quadrant if not beyond.

One of the features available at the launch of Season 8 is the Dyson Joint Command Reputation. Level 50 players of all factions will be able to travel to the Solanae Dyson Sphere, in the Delta Quadrant, and participate in content associated to this new reputation. The Dyson Joint Command Reputation has you in direct conflict with the Voth, a technologically advanced alien species who have laid claim to the Solanae Dyson Sphere and all that it contains.

Players will earn Dyson Marks and Dyson Joint Command Commendations by completing content in the Solanae Dyson Sphere. These currencies are used to complete projects that will progress the player through the Dyson Joint Command Reputation and unlock powerful equipment and captain powers.



Sponsorship

Players have long requested that we make progressing through reputations easier when playing multiple characters. This feature is intended to address that and applies to ALL reputations, not just the Dyson Joint Command Reputation.

Upon reaching Tier 5 with a reputation you will unlock a special Sponsorship project.
The project costs 100 marks and will output a Sponsorship Token
This token can be put into your Account Shared Bank and can be accessed by your other characters.
All reputations have a Tier 1 project that requires 1 sponsorship token specific to that reputation.
Completing this project will reward that character with Double Reputation XP in that specific Reputation, for the remainder of that character's lifetime.
This means that the Projects that previously rewarded 2000xp and 800xp (or 2500xp and 150xp for the Dyson Joint Command Reputation) will now give 4000xp and 1600xp (or 5000xp and 300xp for the Dyson Joint Command Reputation).
Inputs for these projects remain the same.


Reputation Revamp

The Dyson Joint Command Reputation has been revamped with player feedback in mind and features some quality of life improvements such as:

A very large amount of reputation experience can be earned per day by completing a single daily reputation project that requires a single Dyson Joint Command Commendation.
These Commendations are earned by completing a single daily mission that allows the player to choose which piece of content they’d like to experience. They are awarded from both solo and group content.
Reputation Store Unlocks no longer require a project to be unlocked. Instead, a new store will be unlocked automatically each time a Tier within the reputation is completed.
Completing projects that award reputation XP will immediately also grant a Dyson Equipment Requisition box. These boxes contain a random MK XII item that is normally only available from the stores mentioned above.
All Equipment Projects found in the Dyson Joint Command Reputation award Mk XII Very Rare items. This means there are no equipment projects for Mk X or Mk XI items. Only the highest quality of items are awarded from these equipment projects.
These high quality equipment projects are available at all tiers of the reputation instead of being locked behind tiers 4 and 5. This means there’s always at least 1 Mk XII very rare set item at each tier.


Reputation Assets

This new reputation features 3 assets. How they are earned and what they can be spent on is outlined below:

Dyson Joint Command Commendations

Commendations are earned as an additional reward for many pieces of content within the Dyson Sphere and will be obtainable by both solo players and those that engage in group content. Upon earning a Commendation, they can be spent on a daily reputation project that awards a very large amount of reputation experience. Commendations are the primary method for gaining reputation experience in the Dyson Joint Command Reputation. Only a single Commendation can be earned in a 20 hour period; however, to support players who tend to play in long, but in infrequent play sessions, there is a project that requires 350 Dyson Sphere Marks and will output 5 Dyson Joint Command Commendations. This allows players to stockpile commendations for the rest of the week when they cannot actively play.

Dyson Marks

Participating in just about any content in the Solanae Dyson Sphere will award Dyson Marks. This includes the Space Adventure Zone, the Ground Battle Zone and the two queued 5-man events. These marks are primarily used to complete projects that award very rare Mk XII ground and space equipment that are part of a set. A handful of Dyson Marks can also be used for an hourly project that awards a small amount of reputation experience.

Voth Cybernetic Implants

These implants are obtained by completing elite queued events and completing the Ground Battle Zone. A handful of these implants are required for all space and ground equipment projects. These also have a very small chance to be awarded from Dyson Equipment Requisition boxes.

Will Cryptic revamp old reputations in the same way?

Our plan is to see how players react to the changes we’ve made to the Dyson Joint Command Reputation and in future updates we’ll consider retrofitting the existing reputations to have a similar experience.



Do all reputation XP projects award Dyson Equipment Requisition Box?

Yes! Both your daily and hourly XP Dyson Joint Command Reputation projects will immediately award a Dyson Equipment Requisition loot box once the 20-hour project completion timer starts.



What items are in the Dyson Equipment Requisition Box?

These boxes contain items found in the reputation store unlocks. These boxes are more likely to contain items found in the store unlocked by completing the next tier, however they can award items found in previous and later tier stores. Additionally, there’s a small chance that opening one of these boxes will award a Voth Cybernetic Implant.



Do Dyson Equipment Requisition Boxes contain set items?

No. These boxes only contain items found in the stores automatically unlocked at each tier.



Does the Gravimetric Photon interact with Bridge Officer Torpedo abilities like High Yield and Torpedo Spread?

Yes!

Torpedo: Spread will fire Gravimetric Photon Torpedoes at each target. Each impact has a chance to create a spatial rift.
Torpedo: High Yield will fire a single torpedo that is guaranteed to create a spatial rift.


Is the Experimental Proton Weapon a cannon or a beam?

It’s neither a beam nor a cannon (but it possesses aspects of both), thus it does not benefit from +beam or +cannon damage consoles. It does, however benefit from skills that boost Starship directed energy weapon damage. It can also interact with many Beam and Cannon bridge officer powers. It has the targeting arc of a standard cannon (180 degrees), but fires 8 pulses of proton energy over 4 seconds.



Does the Proton Experimental Weapon interact with all beam and cannon bridge officer powers?

Below is a breakdown of bridge officer abilities that are compatible with this weapon:

Beam: Overload
Cannon: Scatter Volley
Energy Weapons: Singularity Overcharge
Beam: Fire At Will
Requires the 2-piece set bonus from the “Protonic Arsenal Set”
Cannon: Rapid Fire
