With all the talk, recently, about a playable Romulan faction there are a lot of folks on the STO forums that seem excited about the idea of obtaining a Mogai escort... I don't understand their excitement. Sure, they have bursts of speed. They also have incredible maneuverability for something that big and pretty decent shield buffs. But... once you get past the shields their hulls are tissue paper. Their weapons are only moderately powerful. More importantly, from what I've heard, you can't feed 'em after midnight... you can't expose them to bright light and you DARE not get them wet.

I just don't get it tongue

D'Deridex or I'm not interested. Not because of the insane fighting abilities, but because it's the ship from the show.

Ah but you forget their unique attack that allows several of them to form together in a ball and steamroll anything in their path.

They are the only ship every made that has passenger seats on the exterior hull.

    Mogai Escort
    Class:Escort
The Mogai Escort is a well armed escort vessel used by the Romulan Star Empire. They are very fast, powerful vessels, but are not as durable as the larger D'deridex Battleship.
Mogai Escorts are also used by the Remans. See Reman Mogai Escort.

    Armament:
    Fore:
    [Dual Disruptor Beam Bank]
    [Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons]
    [Plasma Torpedo Launcher]

    Aft:
    [Disruptor Turret]
    [Tractor Beam Mine Launcher]

The Mogai can have a range of weapons onboard from the above. The rear of the vessel is not as armed as the front so gaining the ability to attack from behind and unleashing a torpedo yield or spread can neutralize this fast, yet weak vessel.

    Abilities:
    Attack Pattern Alpha II
    Evasive Maneuvers
    Torpedo: High Yield III
    Cannon: Rapid Fire II
    Tactical Team II

I thought that was the rumored Romulan "Critter" class escort?

Yep! To conserve ships energy I've found that, once you bring the shields down, you can usually switch to high energy spitballs heheheheh...
