Has anyone else been having problems with severe lag time/connection issues/server disconnects? It's gotten bad enough for me, since the last patch, that playing is becoming difficult at best and sometimes impossible. Trying to narrow down whether it's on their end or mine...

some time iv been getting time where i get stuck in the loading screen forever and have to close the game and reopen it but thats been more then the last patch but not too long

Thanks, Seeker. I think I may be dealing with a "perfect storm" situation. I've always had the issue you describe to some extent but that has gotten much worse since last patch. Our ISP has had several outages recently that took down the whole cable service (both internet and TV) for as much as 4 hours. However when it's up I'm getting good thruput on speedtests (of course that's never the whole picture with a connection). My biggest problem is server timeouts, lag, rubberbanding (sometimes severe) and server disconnects (usually will let me reconnect right away). I've tried a force verify twice and that seemed to fix the issue temporarily but it soon returns. I tried logging in via the US proxy last night and that helped a little bit. Will try the Euro proxy tonight. Otherwise may be looking at uninstalling and reinstalling the client. Will also try a tracert against the patch server and possibly a nettest as well... depending on other results.
I do think SOME of the problems are due to this last patch, though, as I'm seeing some complaints on the forum... just no experiences as bad as mine

Well, finally resolved it last night... at least for the most part. I reinstalled Direct X and checked everything else I could think of however it wasn't acting like a graphics or other processing issue but, rather, a connection issue. I haven't had any connection issues elsewhere and reinstalled all of my drivers just to be sure. Checked Windows Firewall = off. Finally I tried disabling Avast! (my AV/Firewall software) even though it's never been a problem before (indeed it's so invisible most of the time I tend to forget it's even there... until it saves me from a nasty heheheh). Apparently their last update changed something because that was it. As long as I disable Avast! before I log in it's no worse than anything anyone else is experiencing (lag times at the hubs like ESD and Q'Onos, for instance). Since Avast! came out with a patch about the same time as the last STO patch I've no idea whose patch is to blame (possibly both) but no biggie. I may, eventually, break down and spend the cash for the purchased version of Avast!, which will allow me to configure "DMZ's" for apps like STO (my old freeware version isn't that configurable) but for now this work around is fine. And I'm back in the black!
