Has anyone put time into researching what weapon types the different PvE factions use and what types they are most susceptible too? I harken back to Eve where the best tactic I knew of was figuring out what ammo type to use on what enemy faction. That maximizes your damage potential. Knowing what they are hitting you with could help you decide on what engineering armor console to drop in before the mission begins to help your defense that much more.
There may not be a particular need for weapon damage type info, though, as you only have enough skill points to train a very few types up to a decent level. It would help, however, if you mostly fight one or two factions most of the time. This would enable you to make wiser decisions as you skill up or reskill.
If I'm misunderstanding how the weapon types work here and it is simply a matter of what effect you want determining your weapon of choice, please tell me. I have to assume much in this game since Cryptic does not document details in-game or on it's website.
