No topics about V? With 2 Serenity stars...Maybe I missed a post.

Anyway, 10 minutes into the show and it's ok.

If you don't know about it ts a remake of the original series from 1982. It first came on when I was in first grade. The visitors are reptilian type aliens that came to earth and started using the humans as a food source. They brainwashed alot of the humans to work with them. as a rsult a band of humans known as the fifth column joined together to fight the aliens. there is just so much to the original series like the starchild that was a visitor human hybrid. Among the original cast was the the guy that stared in the original beast master movie Mark Singer and micheal ironside. From what i can tell this new one is different. they seemed to have changed the story a bit.

They are still lizardly. The effects were ok, kinda Stargatish. I like watching Morena Baccarin, but some of the other actors were a bit cardboardish.

I was hoping for more of a Lost feel, but, oh well.
The ship that took the people to see the New York mothership looked really dirty. I don't know if it was just the shadows, but maybe they were trying to say something about dirty New York or maybe it was something about the V's. Dunno. Gonna watch next week, though.

I'm gonna watch it too. I love the original series. It was one of my all time favorites. They had a v marathon sunday on scyfy channel where they showed episodes of the original series all day.

I caught one of them. There was a sword fight with Mark Singer. When the swords hit the ground, they blew up. I didn't think the leader of the V's in the original was all that pretty, but on IMDB, she is all the rage in the forums.
Watching the old series brought back memories of Buck Rogers and Batttlestar Gallactica...all those flimsy, shiny costumes and aliens who swordfight.

I used to love those shows when I was a kid. What do you think of the remake of battle star galactica. Last season was the only season i ever got to see. I wanna check out the spin off caprica.

I to watched the new V. When the original V was on I loved every single episode. They have changed quite a bit between the original and this latest incarnation. I enjoyed it even though Alan Tudyk died in the first episode .

He comes back. He was in the preview for the next show.
I never watched the new Battlestar.

Loved the old V, loved both incarnations of Galactica (though the new one was better) and will be catching up on the new V when I get home. Can't wait!

The show seemed a bit rushed to me. I guess they wanted to set the entire premise in the first show so that the series could take off without having to revisit one of the main story ideas (are they friends?) in each episode.
One thing the show is missing is a clear main character on our side. Lots of characters and lots of talent, but who is going to be the main protagonist?

It's hard to bring yourself to watch a series when you already know the big reveal.

Good show ...really good show and soon im going to buy the contacts that was shown in the show (of the Vs) and going to freak out people ...and if i can (if they have it near chicago) go to a Event or showing or something for the fans of the new show V (oh yea convention is what i meant) ....i might get stabbed but it would be worth it to see their faces ....and yes i do know sites that have those kind of contact lenses ....pricey but worth it.

I've never been to an event in Chicago. A few of my buds went to a star warsy con thing in Indy, though.
