Rumored to have once made a warp-coil out of nothing more than a few comm badges and a load of tellerite popsicle sticks.
2398: assinged to USS Firm Defiance
2405: While in outer reaches of Federation territory testing new shield-plating and transwarp technology, the Firm Defiance mysteriously vanished. There had been several minor skirmishes with apparently stray borg ships in nearby star systems, but it has not been confirmed that the Firm Defiance was attacked by borg. Liam Ashby was one of very few that escaped with their lives. Further information on incident is level A classified.

2409: requesting duty reassignment to Serenity Station
