did he do the deluxe version or the standard version ...i did the deluxe version seems worth it with the price and all...PC FTW!!! i built my PC so i know it can handle it just wondering if the 360 can handle that game since i dont think consoles have had an update for along time (atleast in the hardware part).

I got as far as the riddles and then took a nap... It was a busy day at school, and I did not get a real chance to play it tonight. The character creation was cool. I was able to make a toon that looked like me and I ran around the tutorial a bit. I'm a bit dismayed from the departure from dnd.
I will be able to put a few more hours in this weekend, but it didnt take me in like the other Baldurs Gates did.

Blarg. So I had ordered the deluxe game through Stardock's Impulse service (think Steam if you haven't used it before.) After two failed downloads (and these are 8 Gig downloads, so took all fricken day) I find out that AVG anti-virus, even though I had turned off what options I could by the 2nd d/l was corrupting the process. So I finally get the game succesfully downloaded and installed after the 3rd d/l, having completely removed AVG from my machine.
Aaaaannnd. Reg key comes up as 'already in use.' FFS. Apparently this is a known issue, and because I FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS as laid out by the e-mail that was sent with my reg key and registered the key at bioware's site, it got somehow lost in the nether between them, ea, and the game's auth server. FFS. Contacted both stardock and ea. Stardock says 'not our problem, contact ea. Got ahold of ea via their live web chat service, the douch says he can't do anything, can't remove my key so I could reg it via the game itself (which is the only way it would work, apparently) and instead wants me to send him a screen-cap of the error msg.
I FRACKING PAID FOR THIS GAME, but he didn't appear to care. The Uber Duper Deluxe Edition, no less. I had a 20% discount that made the deluxe version only $2 more then the regular version, $52 - the only reason I got the extra version, but that's beside the point. The fricken game had been out on torrent websites days before this. So I'm feeling more then a little miffed that my $65 product is getting me such stellar treatment. I'll be sure to buy more EA games, you bet.
Anyways, after searching on the various forums (ea's, bioware's, bioware's DA forums, stardock's, etc.) I finally come across a post by someone who listed their direct contact number. 10 minutes later I get ahold of a dude that actually knew WTF was going on, of course he blaimed stardock, but I sure as hell wasn't getting off the line till the issue was resolved. He said their current work around was to pull the key from the system and auth me for a direct download via their EA-download manager. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Yup, only current workaround. Game via the EADM has the reg key built in, so I have to download Another 8 gigs. So I'm at 32 Gigabytes of d/ls over the past 24 hours. On a 5Mbit connection, so the d/l rates have been ~500k-690k. That's a while for all 32 gigs.
But I finally got the damn thing playable. So that's what I've been doing these last few days. Better be gorram worth this hassle.

Wow, that really sucks. I've used Direct2Drive before, and I had a similar problem with Supreme Commander. After this, I don't think I'll buy anything else from game download services that is more than 5.00.

I preordered it as well. Loaded with no problems, and was able to use my precreated Characters, had a nice Warden Keep quest, that I completed yesterday so now my toons have an alternate place to call home. I also did the Shale quest for the extra party member. The extra downloadable content will make DA provide many hours of fun. Currently have a 14th Mage and 9th Rogue.

Bioware finally updated the Toolset download link for those that have registered their DA. Looks like a great way to learn how to mod a great game.

Wow, you got pretty far. I'm still in the first starting city after joining the Graywolves. I saw a youtube clip about getting the dog companion, and if you don't do it right away when it is first available, you wont ever get another chance....I'll haave to watch it again to see where that is again. The dog looked pretty cool.
Also, I was big into the alchemy parts of Morrowind and Oblivion. I am hoping that it is ok in DA soon.

If you liked Baldur's Gate, then this game you will like. It's a bit more cinematic than the others, but the story is very compelling...though, the noble human story is a bit crappy at the start.
Don't download the 1.1 patch. It messes up the game.
Also, there's this dude when you download the patch in your camp that sells downloadable content. Very weird, but the game itself is great. I can see playing it more than 3 time through. It reminds me a lot of the the original Baldurs, but looks so fantastic. And there's a female character that I don't really want in my party, but she looks and sounds so awesome, that I cannot replace her (.
