Recruitment/Promotion Protocol Page

Recruitment/Promotion Protocol

=/\= Recruitment: =/\=

A. The person being recruited must submit a request to join the fleet. Recommended Age is 18+ Maturity is more important than age.

B. One of the Commanding Officers will review the request form and Approve or Deny.

C. If approved, the recruit will be assigned the Fleet Rank of Cadet for 15 days.

D. During this 2 week period, we will watch the recruit’s interaction with the fleet and see if the recruit is going to fit in or not. We will then decide whether to turn the recruit away or promote the recruit to ensign. Upon the 15th day, if the recruit is accepted, he/she will be promoted to Ensign. (Remember that you are still the captain of your own ship, this is just for the command structure of our fleet.

E. At the rank of Ensign, you will be assigned to a squadron. This decision will be made by the command staff with input from the Cadet (Time zone, preference, etc.)

F. After 60 days of active service from initial joining, you will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.

G. After 90 days of active service from initial joining, you will be promoted to the Rank of Lieutenant.

H. Promotions from here on up will be based on several important things: Activity, Merit, Loyalty, Personal Conduct and the needs of the fleet.

=/\= The Promotion Process: =/\=

An officer of rank Captain or higher can fill out a form to recommend a person for promotion and email it to the Admiral of his/her squadron.
The Admiral will review the form and decide whether to endorse the recommendation or not.

If the Admiral endorses the recommendation, the admiral will then pass it to the other admirals of the fleet as well as the Fleet Admiral.
The Admiralty will then discuss it in a brief meeting and decide whether to promote the officer or not.

The Admiralty also has the right and ability to promote someone immediately, depending on the situation or the need. Admiralty proposed promotions can go straight to the meeting without endorsement.
